Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

• Users must be at least 18 years of age to register as a Student or Mentor on the Platform.
• Mentors/Educators must provide accurate credentials for verification purposes; SocioTurtle reserves the right to reject or revoke mentor status at its sole discretion.
• This pilot phase of the Platform is currently limited to women students and women mentors/educators, as communicated separately.

2. Membership Fee & Payment

• Certain features of the Platform (including but not limited to career-pathway analytics for Students, and verification/promotion tools for Mentors) require payment of a membership fee, as displayed at the time of purchase.
• All fees are quoted in INR (₹) and are inclusive/exclusive of applicable taxes as stated at checkout.
• Payment does not guarantee any specific outcome, including but not limited to internship placement, employment, or academic result. See Section 6.
• Accepted payment methods (e.g., UPI, card, net banking) are displayed at checkout.

3. Refund & Cancellation Policy

• Our refund and cancellation policy is being finalized with legal counsel. Until it is published, please contact us directly regarding any refund request and we will address it on a case-by-case basis.
• Membership fees are non-transferable between Users.

4. Mentorship & Internship Referrals

• Mentors may, at their discretion, refer Students to internship or employment opportunities with third-party organizations.
• SocioTurtle does not guarantee, warrant, or promise any internship, employment, or placement outcome to any Student.
• Any compensation SocioTurtle pays to Mentors for successful referrals is disclosed to both the Mentor and the Student at the time of referral, and is not linked to fees paid by the receiving organization, in order to avoid conflicts of interest.
• Students are solely responsible for evaluating and accepting any internship/employment opportunity referred through the Platform. SocioTurtle is not a party to, and bears no liability for, the terms of any such engagement between a Student and a third-party organization.

5. Content Ownership & License

• Students retain ownership of all content they upload (videos, portfolios, project entries, etc.).
• By uploading content, Students grant SocioTurtle a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use such content within the Platform (and, where separately consented to, for promotional purposes).
• Mentors/Educators retain ownership of verification ratings and feedback they provide, subject to SocioTurtle's right to display this data within the Platform to support its verification function.

6. No Guarantee of Outcomes

SocioTurtle provides tools for skill verification, mentorship access, and career-pathway guidance. It does not guarantee admission, internship placement, employment, salary outcomes, or any specific career result. All career-pathway analytics and match percentages are indicative and informational only.

7. Data Privacy

• SocioTurtle collects and processes personal data (including academic details, portfolio content, and communication data) in accordance with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
• See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is collected, used, and protected.
• Users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data as provided under applicable law.

8. Code of Conduct

• Users agree not to upload false, misleading, defamatory, or plagiarized content.
• Mentors agree to provide verification ratings in good faith and without bias.
• SocioTurtle reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user account found in violation of these Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SocioTurtle Technologies LLP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of opportunity, loss of income, or reliance on any career-pathway analytics or mentor referral.

10. Termination

SocioTurtle reserves the right to suspend or terminate a User's access to the Platform at its discretion, including for breach of these Terms, non-payment of fees, or misuse of the Platform. Users may also request account deletion at any time.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Pune, Maharashtra.

12. Amendments

SocioTurtle may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after any such update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
